Inspiring Transition Workshop with Francis Osei-Appiah
BackLast Friday, we were delighted to welcome Francis Osei-Appiah, Founder and award-winning CEO of Reform, Restore, Respect, to our school. He ran a transition workshop for our Year 6 pupils who will be starting secondary school in September.
Preparation for secondary school is incredibly important for any 11-year-old, and at Seal Primary, we strive to equip our children with the tools they need to make this transition as smooth as possible.
Francis didn’t have the best start in life and, for many years, found himself involved in crime, which eventually led to time in prison. He is determined to ensure no one experiences the life he once led. For the past ten years, Francis has worked with both primary and secondary schools, running workshops to help young people make positive choices and stay on the right path in life.
Everyone in the room, including our teachers, was captivated by his story and honesty. Educating young children about the dangers of crime is a lesson they are unlikely to forget and we look forward to welcoming Francis back to Seal Primary next year!
